Rates are set per site. This is how a hosting quote is structured; the figures and terms themselves are agreed in writing.

What we need from you.
Hosting is for machines bought through Proton. Pick them from our catalogue and enquire about hardware and future hosting together. Hosting depends on confirmed capacity and site readiness.
Short list, and shorter because the machines come from us.
- Machine selection. Model and quantity from our catalogue. We confirm the cooling slot before anything ships.
- Pool configuration. Your pool, your worker naming, your payout address. We configure to your spec and never change it.
- Read-only pool access. An API key so our reporting can reconcile your payouts against measured hashrate. Read scope only.
- Freight. We arrange inbound from the supplier, receive, inspect, photograph, and report any damage within the window set out in your hosting agreement.
- Signed agreement and deposit. Then we schedule your rack window.

From first call to first share.
Timing depends on a confirmed opening, site readiness and freight. Proposed locations have no confirmed hosting start date.
Scope and quote
You choose the machines and a preferred start date. We review future availability and site readiness, then confirm whether we can offer capacity and terms. An enquiry about a proposed location does not reserve a slot or establish a start date.
Agreement and deposit
Hosting agreement signed, deposit received, capacity reserved in your name, and an account contact assigned.
Freight and receiving
Your machines ship from the supplier to the site address on the agreement. Every pallet is opened, counted, serial-scanned, and photographed. Discrepancies are reported before anything is racked.
Rack and commission
Units are installed, mapped to your account, pointed at your pool, and burned in. We do not call a machine live until it is holding rated hashrate at rated power.
Live and reporting
Dashboard access and alerts once your machines are live, and your first statement at the end of the billing period. From there it is our job to keep it boring.
Common questions
Things people ask before signing.
Who holds the bitcoin?
You do. Your machines mine to your pool account under your credentials, and the pool pays your wallet directly. Proton never takes custody of mined bitcoin at any point, and we do not need your withdrawal keys to run your fleet. The only access we ask for is a read-only pool API key so reporting can reconcile.
Can you host machines I bought elsewhere?
No. Hosting (colocation) is only for machines bought through Proton. We confirm each model is hydro-capable before anything ships, and the machines remain yours.
What happens when a machine fails?
Alerting fires the moment a unit drops below its expected hashrate or overheats. The on-site response follows the standard path — reboot, reseat, swap the PSU, then swap the hashboard from spares. If a unit needs a manufacturer RMA, we pull it, document it, and coordinate with you on the return. How labour and parts are charged is set out in your hosting agreement.
Do I pay for power when the site is curtailed?
No. Power is billed on metered draw, so if the machines are off, there is no power to bill. Curtailment events appear on your statement with start time, duration, and cause, so downtime always reconciles against your pool numbers.
Can I move my machines out before the term ends?
Early exit, notice periods, fees and deposit treatment are set out in your hosting agreement. When machines leave, we de-rack, palletize, and stage them for your carrier at a cost quoted in writing.
Why can stranded power cost less than the grid?
Proposed projects may use stranded gas or power that would otherwise be curtailed. Those sources can have fewer competing buyers, but delivered costs, supply arrangements and interruption terms must be confirmed for each location. A proposed rate is not an offer of operating capacity.
What size deployment do you actually want?
The minimum is set per site and stated in your quote. Terms for larger fleets are agreed per site, in writing. Tell us the fleet you plan to buy and we will tell you whether we can host it.
