Privacy

What this site
collects about you.

Almost nothing. This page says exactly what, and names the two outside services one page here talks to, because a policy that leaves those out is not a policy.

Covers protonminingco.com only. The Proton Mining application is a separate product with its own privacy policy, which is the one to read if you hold an account.

No accounts, no cookies

This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and has no login. Nothing is stored in your browser except what you type into the calculator, which never leaves it.

Forms open your mail client

The contact and site-submission forms do not transmit anything to us. Pressing send composes a draft in your own mail application, addressed to us. Nothing reaches us until you send it yourself, and you can see exactly what it says first.

Hosting

Served as static files by GitHub Pages, which keeps its own server logs including visitor IP addresses. We do not have access to them and do not receive a copy.

The outside services.

Some of these your browser contacts directly, which means your IP address reaches them. Others we contact on your behalf from our own server, so they never see your browser at all. The difference matters, so it is stated for each one.

Your browser contacts these directly

Coinbase

The current bitcoin price, from their public price endpoint, on the calculator and the hardware catalogue. No key, no account, no payload — a bare read.

Blockchain.info

The current bitcoin network difficulty, from the same two pages and in the same way. Also a bare read.

Cloudflare

Our order service runs there. If you place an order, what you typed into it — machines, destination, contact details — goes to that service, along with your IP address. It is ours; Cloudflare hosts it.

Stripe

Only if you choose to pay by card. You are sent to a page Stripe hosts, and your card details go to Stripe, never to us — we never see or store a card number. They tell us afterwards whether the payment succeeded, and nothing more.

We contact these for you

Your browser never talks to these, so they do not see your IP address or anything about your visit.

Strike

Raises the bitcoin invoice when you choose to pay that way. Our server asks for it and passes you the address; Strike sees the payment, not you.

If you would rather not

Block scripts for those pages, or use them with JavaScript disabled. Both fall back to the figures they shipped with, dated on the page, and everything else still works.

Questions.

Write to hello@protonminingco.com. If you have asked us something by email and would like it deleted, say so and we will.
